State Collaborations

We work hand in hand with our counterparts at medical societies across US states and territories to streamline the accreditation process for local CME providers. Together, we foster community-based CME initiatives aimed at supporting clinicians.

State Collaborations

Equivalency Framework: Utilizing an equivalency framework, we extend recognition to state and territory medical societies as accreditors of CME providers catering to learners within their respective regions. These providers include community hospitals, state specialty societies, and medical societies.

Standards: AACME Recognized Accreditors adhere to the same accreditation rules and decision-making process as outlined by the AACME. This ensures uniformity in evaluating CME providers, guaranteeing that both AACME-accredited and state-accredited providers maintain consistent standards of educational excellence and independence.

Resources: We offer an array of educational resources and support services tailored for Recognized Accreditors. These include monthly webinars, an annual leadership conference, and professional development training catered to new accreditation staff and state volunteers. Additionally, AACME staff members actively engage with Recognized Accreditors by delivering presentations at their educational meetings, offering training sessions for state accreditation committee members, and providing personalized consultations to state medical society staff and leadership.
